Kenilworth Castle English Heritage Review For Families

If there’s one thing our family cherishes, it’s our weekend escapades exploring the treasures of England’s rich history. This past weekend was no exception as we ventured to the enchanting Kenilworth Castle in Warwickshire. Nestled in the heart of the Midlands, this historical site promised a day filled with adventure and learning.

From the moment we parked our car (conveniently close to the entrance, I might add), and started walking towards the entrance, we all knew this was going to be a good day. The castle has this way of making you feel tiny, but in the best way—like you’re part of a much bigger story. And with the sun shining and a few clouds playing tag in the sky, you can bet we were ready to dive right in!

Whether you’re passionate about history, eager for some outdoor exercise, or simply looking for a day out where imaginations can run wild, Kenilworth Castle stands majestically as an emblem of bygone eras beckoning modern families to explore its rich tapestry. It was set to be a day etched in memory, a perfect blend of learning and laughter.

As a family who loves to explore and enjoy the great outdoors, we recently decided to spend a weekend at Crow Nest Park in Dewsbury. With a keen sense of curiosity and our adventure-spirited kids, Matilda and Barney, in tow, we were set on uncovering all that this serene park had to offer.

Clumber Park National Trust Review

As a family, we are regular visitors to the National Trust aspect of Clumber Park (we’ve been 4 times). Shamefully we are yet to do the dedicated cycle paths within the National Trust site (I know it’s one of the main attractions) however Clumber Park has much to offer.

Clumber Park is actually over 3,800 acres in total, including woods, open heath and rolling farmland. It contains the longest double avenue of lime trees in Europe.

Many don’t make it as far as the National Trust site itself and enjoy the country walks and options available outside of the trust entrance. It’s a huge expanse of space and can be enjoyed by members and non-members alike.

The National Trust site includes a wide range of things to do for families including a play park, cafe, picnic areas, lake walks and of course cycle tracks. It’s a great day out and well worth your yearly membership.
